How individuals can help
Our work would not be possible without our incredible mentor and volunteer team.
Student/mentor relationships are incredibly important for student learning and building a trusting relationship where students can ask questions and explore the field of architecture and design.

Work 1-to-1 with a student for the duration of our 6 week Summer Skill Building Program (21 June - 29 July).
What’s involved?
25-30 hours over 6 weeks (averages 8 hours on first and last weeks and 2 on middle weeks), which includes:
Virtual training session(s) and intro to program resources
3 half day in person sessions (T 21 June, M 25 July, T 26 July)
Weekly Student Project Reviews over the lunch hour (60 minutes on Tuesdays, virtual)
OPTIONAL attend workshops and project intros after lunch sessions with students (Tuesdays, virtual)
Weekly 1-to-1 check in with student (30-60 minutes, on your own schedule, virtual)
Weekly mentor team check in (15-30 minutes, virtual)
Debrief + Survey

At BOSS, we recognize the best way to learn is to apply your skills in the real world. Internship opportunities are a great way for students to get a taste of what the life of a design professional is like, while bolstering their resume and portfolio for future scholarship and job opportunities.
